15th UK 40 For Darren

Greys & Chub Academy member Darren was fishing a Kent gravel pit at around 60 yards when the 40lb 4oz fish picked up his balanced 20mm Mainline cell hook bait.

UK Marketing Manager Andy Charlton said;

"Only a handful on anglers in the UK have landed so many landmark fish, and we are absolutely delighted to congratulate Darren on his achievement. We hope he can notch up a 20th in the not too distant future!"

Commenting on the capture Darren said;

"This was my sixth night on the pit this year, and despite fish showing in front of me, nothing happened for the first 24 hours. I decided to stay put, as I knew fish were in the area, and boy was I glad I did!

"At around 10pm that night I received a screaming take that resulted in me sliding down the bank to my rod, due to the recent rain. I then had to jump into the lake as the fish decided to kite into a bay to my right! After a very hard fight of over 20 minutes she was in the net. I was soaked, covered in mud, but over the moon."

Darren was fishing over 3 kilos of 20mm cell boilies using the new Rigmarole Skinfull hooklink, free fall lead system, and Greys 3.25lb TC Torsion rods.
