News & EventsTarget 40lb Fish For Ed
31/05/2012Ed Betteridge has landed his target 40lb Common. The fish, known as Cut Tail, tipped the scales at 43lb 4oz.
Ed was fishing a 5 acre Nene Valley syndicate water using new Greys prototype rods when he received the bite.
Marketing Manager, Andy Charlton said:
"I was thrilled to hear the full story of how Ed tricked the fish into picking up his bait... genuinely exciting stuff! It showed a tremendous amount of dedication. The fact that he landed it on one of our new prototype rods is equally thrilling."
Commenting on the capture, Ed said;
"The memory of banking Cut Tail is one that will stay with me for a very long time.
"Over the course of a few weeks I observed most, if not all of the lakes 20 odd inhabitants. I adapted my presentations to suit, fishing in an unpopular weedy swim where they were happy to visit regularly .
"A bit of pre-baiting allowed me to get them feeding confidently in the area. To actually see my target fish pick up my hook bait was a very special moment."
Cut Tail is Ed's 8th biggest fish, 2nd biggest common, and first 40lb fish of 2012. The bait used to land the monster was The Edge from Aqua Dynamix.
